This book includes and reviews eleven selected articles from scholars in musicology, computer music, and music technology in research areas that were presented during the joint international conference, ICMC|SMC 2014, which was held in Athens and put the question about the ethics of technology in nowadays music creation and performance.
The book is divided into five sections: 1) Ontology of music technology, 2) Digital echos, 3) Virtual ethos, 4) Performability-Embodiment, and 5) On Xenakian Technological Thought.
All five sections are developed with regard to a common central question, namely, the question regarding the impact of digital technology on contemporary music perception, creation, and performance.
