In Greece fruit preserving constitutes a tradition that is spread from generation to generation and stays alive till nowadays. Despite the technological evolution, the way of making jams stays the same, just as our grandmothers taught us. In our country, everyone has tasted a spoonsweet at least once in his life. That`s why I named this book "The sweets of life". I would never forget my grandmother and my mother who thought it was unacceptable not to have a spoonsweet in our house: fig, cherry, quince, apricot, grape etc. Not to mention the marmalades, the preserves and the molasses; the must, the must-cakes and the must-jeelly.
