[...] These reflections, and the feelings of dedication and piety that accompany them, have prompted us to put together these volumes and to offer them up as a monumental landmark. Our purpose it to exalt the timeless grandeur of orhodoxy, to do fitting honour to the glory of its spiritual heritage, and to make this a venerated possession for the edification of christendom as a whole. History, theology, worship, monasticism and art join in harmonious consort to shed glorious light on orthodoxy` s precious countenance, and to uplift its crucial mission in the new century and in the coming third millenium.
