The phenomenon of corruption, especially in the field of public servants and functionaries, although it is not something new (in fact it is known since antiquity) it tends to take enormous dimensions in our modern societies with their everyday changing conditions. So, I thought that the organization of an International Conference by the Athens` Court of Appeal, aiming to the study of the means offered for combating corruption, would be very useful for the straggle to repress this phenomenon. This initiative of mine was heartily adopted by all the members of the Court`s Administrative Board.
