Ithaca is the second smallest island of the Ionian complex, after Paksoi. However, it is a magical place, with crystal clear turquoise waters, long history and rich cultural tradition and it remains, until today, Ulysses` home island, the ultimate `final destination` of every traveller.
Ithaca is a sleepy, rocky island, where time moves slowly and the regular number of visitors respect its rhythms, its traditions as well as its natural environment, the beaches, the mountains and the remote settlements.
The whole of the island has gained Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty status while the capital town Vathy and the villages Kioni, Anogi and Stavros are officially recognised Traditional Settlements.
